Requirements for Maryland LPN Certification

Licensed practical nurse students need a high school diploma or GED in order to qualify. There are also preparatory courses for certification that you have to complete. Get training from one of the lpn schools in Maryland. Requirements for certification also include passing the LPN Entrance Exam or commonly known as NCLEX-PN exam. There are also several requirements such as meeting several health and physical strength requirements. Among these requirements include being able to lift heavy weights, preferably 70 pounds or more, pushing and pulling of emergency stretchers and carts in routine shift of eight hours and even more. You also have to make use of your hands and shoulders to fill entry forms, insurance forms and reach high places to reach IVs and other instruments. Preferably, one should have near perfect vision in order to read fine prints on history charts and medication bottles. As a licensed practical nurse, you are also required to carry incapacitated patients.
